Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you sign in we store your email address, display name, and (if you sign in with a third party) your provider identifier and avatar. Account features on VNovels are intentionally minimal.
• Content you create. Your projects in My VNovels — scenes, choices, and branch structure — plus the prompts you write, reference images you upload, generated artwork, and any titles or descriptions you publish.
• Usage data. Stories you view and play, editor actions, and basic interaction events used to improve the product.
• Technical data. IP address, browser and device type, language preference, and cookies (see “Cookies” below).

VNovels has no in-app currency and no payments, so we do not collect any transaction or billing information.

• To operate the service — authenticate you, store your projects, and show your library.
• To process generation requests through our AI providers (see “Sharing” below).
• To populate the browse experience, including Home, Category, and Rankings.
• To maintain safety — detect abuse, enforce our Community Guidelines, and prevent fraud.
• To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
• To analyze and improve performance, reliability, and features.

VNovels uses third-party AI models to generate images — backgrounds, character sprites, items, and dialogue-box designs — and to power the story assistant that edits scenes from your instructions. The prompts, reference images, and story text you submit are sent to these providers solely to fulfill your request. We do not use your private, unpublished content to train our own models. Generated output is stored in your project and is governed by our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf — hosting, storage and CDN, AI generation, and analytics — under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Other users, when you choose to publish a visual novel. Published stories and their artwork are visible to anyone.
• Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of VNovels or others.
• A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the service is used. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly without them.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your projects at any time, and you can request deletion of your account. We may retain certain records where required for legal, accounting, or fraud- prevention purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage your projects directly in My VNovels, or contact us using the details below for anything else.

VNovels is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Some stories on VNovels are rated for older audiences — see our Content Ratings. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We operate globally and may process and store your information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
