Make stories that are yours. Don’t reproduce copyrighted games, characters, art, or writing you don’t have rights to — whether in your scenes, your prompts, or the reference images you upload — and don’t pass off others’ work as your own. See our Copyrights page for details.

Choose the correct rating when you publish so players know what to expect — and remember the rating must cover every branch of the story, not just the main route. Review our Content Ratings. Under-rating mature content to reach a wider audience is not allowed.

The following are strictly prohibited and will be removed, with accounts subject to suspension:

• Child sexual abuse material. Any sexual content involving minors, or anyone depicted as a minor, in any style. We report such content to the authorities.
• Non-consensual and real-person sexual content. Sexualized depictions of real, identifiable people without consent, or content that promotes sexual violence.
• Hate and harassment. Attacks or dehumanization based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar traits; targeted harassment or bullying.
• Violence and harm. Content that incites, glorifies, or threatens real-world violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
• Illegal activity. Promotion of illegal goods, services, or actions.
• Deception. Impersonation, scams, spam, malware, or misleading content.

Branching is not a loophole: these rules apply to every scene and every choice path in a story, including hidden or hard-to-reach branches.

• Publish finished, honest work — don’t flood the browse pages with low-effort duplicates.
• Don’t manipulate views or rankings.
• Respect other creators’ characters and stories.
• Use content warnings thoughtfully when a story takes a dark turn.

Don’t attempt to bypass content filters, scrape the Service, reverse-engineer it, overload our systems, or abuse the generation tools. Don’t create multiple accounts to evade enforcement.

To report a story or profile, email support@vnovels.app with a link. Depending on severity and history, we may remove content, re-rate or age-gate it, issue warnings, or suspend and terminate accounts. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement. We aim to be fair and consistent, and we may consider context.
